Things pick up as normal right where the last one left off. Katy wakes to Dawson in her bedroom and starts talking to him later when Daemon shows up he disappears to his house next door. When Katy and Daemon are spending time in her bed there moment of peace is shatter when a body is thrown threw Katy's bedroom window. Dawson shows up after and says his aim was off and that the guy was spying on them and taking photos. When the group of aliens get together to talk about the spy from the DOD things get tense and argument are thrown back and forth. Andrew insists that Katy leave them alone before they end up losing Daemon as well like when Dawson disappeared and somehow in the mess they lost Adam. Katy learns that will has being talking to her mom and lets Daemon know. Dawson get antsy when he wants to try to go after Beth and recuse her from the DOD. Katy talks Dawson out of going and this ends in a fight between her and Daemon and him telling her that its his family and problem not hers. And she walks away from Daemon. Blake comes back and blackmails Daemon and Katy into helping him get Chris back from the DOD. Daemon and Katy meet up with Blake at the restaurant and tells him that they are willing to help him out. Blake explains that they need to find Luc to help them get into the DOD at mount weather to free Chris. Before they go to find Luc, Katy tries to talk to Dee about there friendship and try to mend it after Adam's death. But Dee refuses to move on and forgive Katy. When Daemon, Katy, and Blake get to the club and when they meet Luc's they find out that he's teenager.(fun moment there, hehe.) When Katy goes back to school the next week and Katy, and Dawson run in to Kimmy and her friends. Kimmy makes a comment that makes Katy mad and before she knows it her powers almost push Kimmy off the railing, but Dawson catches her before she does. When school ended Daemon and Katy went home and found one of the elders from the Luxen community at Daemon's house and katy met the elder Ethan. A couple days later The group get together to talk about breaking into mount weather with Blake. The following day Dawson, Daemon and Katy are out in the back field practicing how fast they can run and if Katy can keep up with them. When Katy was by herself practicing runs, Blake showed up and when he noticed that a DOD officer was watching the houses Blake pushed Katy to the ground and waited it out until the officer left after Daemon had talked to him. After a few days it came time to go to the blue Ridge mountains to break in to mount weather. When they start to break into to the compound they only got to the second gate until they were sprayed by something that made them not be able to use there abilities or Luxen to transform. When they got out of there they headed to the river and got the stuff off of them. They learned from Blake that it was onyx air born spray. After a couple days they all agreed that they needed to do some onyx training to get a tolerance from it before they decide to break in again to rescue Beth and Chris.

After the meeting was over and Katy went home she found Carissa in her room and knew something was off when Carissa attacked Katy after a little while she exploded in her room and there was nothing left of Carissa. The next weekend Daemon and Katy go in search for Luc to find out what happened to Carissa, however he doesn't know about that. But he does explain what the onyx does and that opal helps power up the hybrids and Luxen. Which Carissa had a bracelet of when she attacked Katy. Katy soon thinks Daemon is sneaking in to Katy's bedroom and sleeping with her, but he never mentions it so she doesn't bring it up. After training tolerance for the onyx Daemon and Katy are kissing in the woods when Dee interrupts them and asks Katy to go prom dress shopping. But Daemon didn’t ask her until Dee brought it up. Katy agrees to go. When in trig class with Blake, Katy remembers a memory of the nights when she thinks Daemon is sleeping over with her, however she finds out that’s its Blake. And she gets pissed during class and walks out. After going to the post office one day with Daemon Katy and him return to her house and Katy notices a shiny new apple laptop on her desk that Daemon got her. Since when her fight with Carissa blew up her second one. When Katy goes to look for something under her bed after getting the laptop she discovers a piece of opal under her bed. After a couple days when Katy came home and went into the kitchen Will was there. His cancer was back and with a vengeance. He threatens Katy with a gun and when katy went into self defense she ends up killing him but not without Will shooting Katy in the chest first. Katy begins to die until Dee goes and helps heal Katy until Daemon shows up and takes over the healing process. They learn that there theory if one dies and the other does also is true, because Daemon experienced everything that Katy felt when she got shot. When prom night shows up Dee helped Katy get ready and when it came time to leave Daemon showed up and they left to prom together and after the dance was over Daemon gave Katy a surprise near the lake and had it decorated with blankets and pillows with candles and all that gooey romantic stuff. They stayed there until morning and come night time they went back to mount weather to break in. During the break in they were able to rescue Beth and Chris however right before they went to escape Blake betrayed them and Katy was captured and everyone else escaped.
