Starts right where the opal ends. Katy is transported to Nevada(area 51) after she is captured by Daedalus. There she meets Dr.Roth and archer. And they tell her about the war between the Luxen and arum. Daemon sets off to rescue Katy. When Katy is in her quarters/cell Blake is there and she learns the truth of why Blake went into the DOD. When Katy is sent to see Dr.Roth again he shows her a lab room where patients with diseases and cancers are waiting for check ups and explains what they are doing with hybrids and Luxen to try and heal humans. When Daemon goes to Luc's club he runs into the bouncer, Luc, and an Arum called Hunter. Blake is in Katy's cell when she wakes up and learns the real truth behind why Blake betrayed them. Blake tries to turn Katy against the Luxen. Dr.Roth tries to get Katy on there side by showing her patients with cancer that affects her on a personal level. Daemon gets to Luc's club and meets an Arum named Hunter. Luc's makes a deal with Daemon if he gets him the LH-11 he will help get Daemon and Katy out of the Daedalus. Dr.Roth makes katy take a series of stress tests that make her fight hybrids. And the first hybrid she is to face off with is Mo who she meet a while back when she was first captured by Daedalus. Kat refuses to fight and participate in the fighting/stress tests. After the fighting Dr.Roth takes Katy to see a Luxen with onyx bands around his wrists and when Dr.Roth puts the sound on from the cell the Luxen was in and he starts talking about how the Luxen are going to take over the planet and Katy learns that some of the Luxen wanted to take down the golden gate bridge during rush hour that would result in millions of life's. The next stress/test fighting Katy is going up against Blake and he gets under her skin with talking that Katy doesn't want to hear and by the end of the fighting Katy kill's Blake when he uses Daemon's kitten nickname for her.

Soon Daemon is taken to see Kat and Katy explains what has be going on how she also killed Blake. Dr.Roth makes Katy hurt herself to test how good Daemon can heal a minor cut. Daemon wouldn't let anyone else do it other than Katy. Of course Daemon heals the cut with no problem and no scaring. After a little while the build goes into chaos from the kid's. When the group with the kid's were passing Daemon and Katy. She hears a message in her head from the kid named Micah. (They don’t know we exist). They learn that the kid was something completely different than them. Daemon and Katy learns the kid was an Origin from Nancy and she explains where they come from and how they a came to be. They also learned that Archer is a Origin as well. When they get back to there rooms they go to the bathroom that they share and Daemon goes into his true form and speaks to Katy threw telepathic communication. And learn that Luc's is an Origin along with Archer when they found out that information from Nancy. They also think that Archer is Luc's implant. The next time Katy goes to see Dr.Roth Katy is forced to let them cut open her back to near death to force Daemon to heal her. When Daemon gets to Katy heals her with no problem other than scaring from how deep the cut was on her back. After the healing Daemon is exhausted beyond what he's experienced before when healing. As soon as Daedalus thought Daemon was rested enough they started the processes of seeing how much Daemon could heal on other humans. After a few tries they gave LH-11 to the healed human however with the LH-11 it ended with the human going crazy and hitting a wall killing themselves. They also learn that the LH-11 is called Prometheus. One of the origin kids escapes again and when Katy was with Archer they came across one of the kids and he said in her mind (Help us, and we'll help you.) Katy also learns that Archer like the origins can read minds. On the sixth day of trying to heal human this one made it threw LH-11 and had passed the stress test with flying colors. Daemon also learns with the Prometheus serum he wont be joined with the people he heals. Katy successfully steals a needle that had the LH-11 and shows Daemon when they were in the elevator with Archer. When Archer learns that Katy stole the LH-11 they learn that Archer is Luc's implant for Daedalus and they are going to make there escape with letting the Origin kids out of building B.

They get outside of the building, not in the clear for freedom they still have to fight soldiers and escape the compound. When they escaped the compound Archer distracted Daedalus and split up with Katy and Daemon and they went to Ash springs and found a hotel to wait until Archer found them. The next morning Paris and Luc came to Katy and Daemon along with Archer. Daemon and katy go with the crew to the outskirts of Las Vegas to a secret Luxen community there they are reunited with the Thompson's twins and Dee and Dawson, along with Beth, and Matthew. As the evening died down and katy and Daemon go to there bedroom. Daemon asks Katy to marry him. They risk going into Las Vegas to go the little white chapel church and they get married. The next few days are quiet however they find out that there host Lyla turned them over to Daedalus and then they also learn that Matthew betrayed them and had ended up turning Bethany and Dawson over to the DOD/Daedalus. Dawson ends up killing Matthew in rage. The crew all get into vehicles and make a run for it before Daedalus comes for them. As they are making there way into the city and when traffic was stopped they knew it was Daedalus. When they noticed after a few minutes that men were starting to search vehicles they knew that they were running out of time to escape. Daemon comes up with an idea to show the world that aliens exist among the human and make a scene in public. When they start making a scene they end up causing Daedalus to fight back and they do by sending the Arum to them to attack them. They pull out the big weapons that end up taking out Andrew and Ash. They end up escaping with who is left from the group. Paris was also killed in the attack from Daedalus. They end up at a safe house with Luc. However the next morning millions of Luxen show up on the planet and Dee, Dawson, and Daemon can no longer keep control of there human form and join the Luxen.
